CrossFit Community Rocks – Welcome TWR CrossFit!

This past Saturday, September 16, Jason, Katie our Health Coach, and I made the quick trip down 465 to see the grand opening of Indy’s newest CrossFit box, Together We Rise CrossFit (TWR). Getting out to these events and welcoming new boxes to the CrossFit community always reminds me of what CrossFit is truly all about: growing the community to positively impact as many lives in our city as possible.

It is all too common in most industries to have unhealthy competition. A new barber shop opens up, and the older one hopes it does poorly and doesn’t take customers. A new car manufacturer gets off the ground (Tesla) and the incumbents (GM, Ford, Chrysler) do everything they can to protect their turf. It’s not that the CrossFit industry is any less competitive; we just believe there is room for everyone to play, and many more people to be served than any one of us could ever reach on our own.

This is actually one of the things I love about being a CrossFit box owner. I get to be happy when “competitors” open their doors. I can genuinely be happy to see more people having a chance to experience this fitness program which has so positively impacted my life. To TWR, welcome to the community! We hope to see people busting down your doors trying to get fit, have some fun, and make amazing friends. Know that you always have a friend in Summit Strength & CrossFit!

Finding motivation through your values: Part 1

The most consistent thing I’ve heard from friends, family, and members of our Summit community throughout the COVID-19 lockdown has been a strange lack of motivation. Not strange in that I don’t understand it – I’ve felt the same way many days – but strange in that very few of us seem able to put … more »
