Do I need to get into shape before I start CrossFit?

No! We hear this question all the time, and the answer is a resounding NO. The best way to be ready for CrossFit is to start doing CrossFit. It would be like trying to learn guitar before taking guitar lessons. Every activity and workout is scalable to your level and your intensity. We will work with you to ensure that you are moving at the pace you feel comfortable with while being pushed outside of your comfort zone and seeing real changes.

What if I don’t know the movements?

If you’re new to CrossFit, each member goes through an in-depth OnRamp program designed to learn the foundational movements when they come through our doors. In order to keep you safe and moving toward your fitness goals, all coaches have a focus on mechanics first. Current CrossFitter? No problem, we’ll test you out.

How do I get started if I’m new to CrossFit?

Starting anything new can be intimidating, we get that completely. That’s why we started our Beginner’s Class, to help you feel comfortable and to learn the ropes. The focus is on educating you about why we follow the program we do, and how you can succeed best in a group class. If you’d like more information or want to schedule your first class, reach out directly to Joe at joe.mills@summit-strength.com.

How do I get started if I’m an experienced CrossFit athlete?

If you already know your way around a box, and understand words like AMRAP and EMOM, feel free to take part in a Test Out with our Head Coach, Jason. Reach out to Joe directly at joe.mills@summit-strength.com and we will get you scheduled for your Test Out, and into classes right away.

How long should I expect to work in order to see results?

We’d love to tell you this is an overnight process, but it simply isn’t, and it is different for every person. If you have good sleep habits, know how to eat correctly, you can expect to see results within your first month. However, we recognize that we may only see you 3-5 hours out of the entire week! That’s why we work to consistently give you the knowledge you need to succeed the other 163 hours you aren’t at the box. Your success is our success, and we’ll work with you to make sure you obtain the goal you’re shooting for.
